Mangrove-planting session coming soon! Interested to join us with LindungiHutan? Send us a message here.

In 2021, we will resume with
Green Drinks Jakarta. Have you got someone to refer? Or perhaps you have an environmental project/initiative you'd like to share?

Send us an email on greendrinks.jakarta@gmail.com or click below to let us know!

YES, I'VE GOT SOMEONE IN MIND!
    • What We Do

Making it easy to shop for a cause, gather with purpose, and act with intention.

      Shop Ethical

Handmade, natural, zero-waste and ethical goods

Plant a tree with every purchase, to reforest the lungs of the Earth (Lindungi Hutan), or grow mangrove plantations around the coasts of our beloved archipelago (Kemangteer). Our latest project is to bring our growing list of vendor partners online. Soon, you'll be able to find products from our offline events, in the click of a button -- we ship non-food, liquid and powder products, internationally! Our goods come from:

      Social enterprises
Individuals and communities creating with eco-fabric, natural ingredients, upcycled or recycled materials, and products to serve the purpose of zero-waste living!

      Small businesses
We welcome anyone -- with less single-use plastic packaging -- who would like to support our causes to become a vendor with us. We factor in your tree-planting costs in our shipping, and support the refugee learning centre from where our refugee volunteers have all been a student or a teacher during their life in the Big Durian.

Boomers, Millenials + Environmental Careers + Drinks

Every month people who work in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks. We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government, and business. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organizing network. Following successful a turn-out in 2019 at WeWork and Greenhouse Coworking Space every first Monday evening of the month, in June 2020, we now host IG Live sessions with guest speakers in the region on @jakartagreener.e, Thursdays, 7:30 PM (GMT+7) JKT/BKK. Access previous presentations from our community by connecting with us on our LinkedIn and Facebook groups, or become a speaker here.

      Ethical Markets

Handmade, natural, zero-waste and ethical goods

Earth Day, Refugee Awareness Day, Independence Day, and other notable days in the year are celebrated with a full schedule of workshops and a marketplace. In the past, we have worked together with venues, organizations and other creatives to raise awareness of social and environmental issues, as well as to promote values of cultural diversity, health and wellness. We support local businesses and nurture a community of dialogue and discourse with our team of dedicated and talented refugee volunteers. Events were held in PELASPAS, Dikolom, Institut Francais d'Indonesie, Cohive, Por Que No, Bunda Mulia School, and Greenhouse Coworking . Click on the image to see a full recap of our events in 2019.

    • Our Teams

We're on a mission to connect your cause to the people who care the most.

      Green Drinks Jakarta

      Networking & Discussions

Our team of volunteers come from various backgrounds within the environment sector. Its creation would not have been possible without the support of Synergy Efficiency Solutions, Eurocham, Eventbank, Cleantech Solar, Green Initiatives, and Greenhouse Coworking. Our live IG sessions are hosted by organizers Karina Kusumadewi, Dwina Soerono and Ma. Bianca Vega.

      Ethical Markets

      Workshops and Marketplace

From June 2018, our events were made possible by a team of refugee volunteers, involved with set up, operations, photography / videography, ushering and facilitating. Support our team of multilingual refugee volunteers by donating to our Patreon, to provide them adequate stipend for food and transport, as well as the the opportunity to join training programs in language and entrepreneurship.

A glimpse of a few out of the many ethical markets, disucssions and workshops, through the years.

      2017

At PELASPAS, Dharmawangsa, we held our first market in 2017. For the last three months in the year, we had vintage and second-hand on display, artisanal creations from cotton threads and ceramic, as well as a mini bulkstore for healthy organic produce, and daily reusable items.

      2018

During the launch of new Burgreens (vegan chain eateries) outlets in 2017, our vendors provided alternative organic produce, healthy snacks, ethical goods and zero-waste products for conscious-living. Yoga, natural hair-care, healthy cooking workshops and a film screening followed by discussions were scheduled for each event.

      2019

Refugee Awareness Day is held globally every year on 20 June. Together with Institut Francais d'Indonesie, we dedicated this day to share refugee stories, discuss their future in Indonesia, held refugee-lead workshops and showcased refugee-made goods.

      2020

A slight manoeuvre from our monthly offline networking events, here is an upcoming series of Green Drinks Jakarta IG Live sessions, every week on Thursday from @jakartagreener.e's IG account.

Become a speaker by filling out the form here.

Our friends at LindungiHutan are committed to decreasing Indonesia's carbon footprint for a more sustainable future. With Jakarta's pollution levels alarmingly high, mangroves along Pantai Indah Kapuk are one of the best plants for carbon sequestration as well as to prevent abrasion of the land.

15% (75 cents) of your contribution supports our work to raise awareness about eco and social enterprise products, as well as handmade goods by our refugee friends in the Big Durian.

Plant a mangrove tree in North Jakarta from wherever you are, and be part of the change for generations to come!
